I am listening to the radio with my dog to share music with my baby bump.  Baby seems to like music with a beat - more kicks

I am loving every kick but feeling like October (baby/s birth month is a while away)

I am thinking I need to pace myself with housework.  I like making our house a comfy home for when hubby returns from a school day teaching year 3/4s.  I love supporting his classroom job, having a fresh coffee machine coffee waiting for him with his favourite Hobnobb biscuits. I love being his side kick, but finding keeping up my usually pace is getting harder every week.

I am wanting to do as much as I can without any regrets.  I look after me and bubs.  I eat carefully, exercise some (missing teaching BodyBalance) and pace myself.  But at the same time each decision I have made in terms of reducing my hours at work for no regrets has been tricky.  I am glad I have TpT :-)

I need TpT to keep me balanced.  To feel like I am still contributing what I can, when I can.  It is nice to see a strong August month of sales and hear the cha-ching even on the harder days.  I feel like I am still helping somehow - even when I don't feel my best or my usual self.

3 trips. - Hubby and I would love to travel to Wales (to his family) to Italy (to share the country I feel in love with at 16 learning the language) and to the USA (to show our favourite places and visit as many basketball games as possible)  This is going on hold until our first baby due in October is ready to fly - and we have savings again :-)

Meet the Teacher: 10 Fun Things About Me!

#1  I am married to my BEST FRIEND.   I live with him, have married him, have worked with him  (we are both teachers) and even shared a classroom with him last year :-)   WHy not do everything with my best friend and soul mate.

#2  We are exepcting out first child in October.  I am 19 weeks - so almost halfway to meeting out Baby :-)

Life is beautiful (La vita é bella) -a heartwarming war story makes for an unusual but beautiful combination.

Coach Carter -  basketball movie about teaching student athletes - and the important life lesson of being students first and athletes second

 

Stepmom - a parenting movie that has helped me prepare to become a mum for the first time.  It explores the many different roles mothers can play.  You can be a mother and still be you.

#9  I am amazed at my Teachers pay Teachers journey already.  I have only been a premium seller starting our on my own journey as a teacher/ online seller.  I have been amazed at the positive feedback, variety of buyers and even the number of repeat buyers back to my store.  I am enjoying trying my first blog to interact more with fellow teachers and I have grown in

  the diversity and depth of resources I make over time.

#10  I love reflecting on my journey with my best friend: met a local boy in the town where I landed my first teaching job.  We met, fell in love and got engaged within 3 years, married 18 months later, and are expecting a baby just after our 3nd wedding anniversary.  Within that time, we have bought a house, redone the kitchen and bathroom and added a basketball half court in the backyard.  Next, on our list is selling stuff we no longer need, readying the nursery and counting down until Baby arrives.  I wonder how the next chapter of our lives together will unfold.

I really like your fresh game-style approach to revising letters and numbers in the languages classroom.

I like to use my translation of The Alphabet Song in Italian to revise letter names for spelling.

For a FREE fun numbers activity, I challenge the students to say their phone number and record the phone numbers of students said aloud.  Phone numbers are very challenging catch as the speaker says a number they know well - but faster than the listener may be ready for.  You can use the hundred charts as a reference guide for beginners. As a TpT seller,  I am getting better at aligning my products to my own style.  My best sellers use colour coding to tag patterns in grammar of language whether it be products in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish or Portuguese.  Colours help highlight patterns for counting in 10s for number charts, gender and number for nouns as appropriate masculine, feminine and in some cases neuter, and verb groups like the Italian verbs ending in -ARE, -ERE and -IRE suffixes.  My TpT buyers comment on the simple but at the same time effective way this assists beginners (including the strugglers).  So, I have to agree that once I found my style - I have used colour to add value to my TpT products as well as make them more eye catching and more memorable as my own creations at my TpT Store.

Welcome to my teaching blog!

Hello Fellow Teachers,

First, I would like to introduce myself.  I am a 30 year old teacher from Australia.  I teach Italian at primary school level.   I have enjoyed my first year as a TpT buyer and seller.  I am amazed at the interest already in my first products online.  As I am coming up to my 100th sale,  I feel it is now time to venture into the social networking side of blogging, facebook and Pinterest too! Perhaps you will find it useful and even interesting to follow my journey as a newbie to social networking :-)

I have decided to take the plunge to start a blog for my TPT friends.

I live with my husband and two dogs.  Charlie is a toy chocolate brown poodle.  Jody is an Alaskan Malamute/Siberian husky.  They make the canine odd couple.  Charlie and my husband James joined Jody and I last year when we FINALLY got married on July 7th 2013.  The neighbours think it very strange that I walk the husky, while walks the poodle.  On our family dog walks, people often comment "Walk your own dog!".  Little do they know that his dog is the little poodle prancing along on a skipping rope and I have the big FLUFFY dog on a long rope leash - often pulling ahead to set the pace. My husband assures me you have to MANLY to be able to own a poodle :-)
