Currently September 2014

I am linking to http://www.bloglovin.com/frame?post=3345135043&group=0&frame_type=a&blog=3936064&frame=1&click=0&user=0

I am listening to the radio with my dog to share music with my baby bump.  Baby seems to like music with a beat - more kicks

I am loving every kick but feeling like October (baby/s birth month is a while away)

I am thinking I need to pace myself with housework.  I like making our house a comfy home for when hubby returns from a school day teaching year 3/4s.  I love supporting his classroom job, having a fresh coffee machine coffee waiting for him with his favourite Hobnobb biscuits. I love being his side kick, but finding keeping up my usually pace is getting harder every week.

I am wanting to do as much as I can without any regrets.  I look after me and bubs.  I eat carefully, exercise some (missing teaching BodyBalance) and pace myself.  But at the same time each decision I have made in terms of reducing my hours at work for no regrets has been tricky.  I am glad I have TpT :-)

I need TpT to keep me balanced.  To feel like I am still contributing what I can, when I can.  It is nice to see a strong August month of sales and hear the cha-ching even on the harder days.  I feel like I am still helping somehow - even when I don't feel my best or my usual self.

3 trips. - Hubby and I would love to travel to Wales (to his family) to Italy (to share the country I feel in love with at 16 learning the language) and to the USA (to show our favourite places and visit as many basketball games as possible)  This is going on hold until our first baby due in October is ready to fly - and we have savings again :-)

Love to all my TpT friends and I wish you all the best as August ended yesterday and September kicks over today.  August and September are my top TpT months :-)

August Currently

Hello Teachers pay Teachers Friends,

I am linking to Oh' Boy 4th Grade for the August Currently:http://ohboy3rdgrade.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/august-currently.html

I am listening to the sound of our chocolate brown ten year old poodle snoring contentedly beside me.  And celebrating every cha-ching I am loucky enought to hear in my best sales day second only to Dec 3, 2013 during a TpT sale.  I am amazed and grateful for every sale that proves my products are useful to my fellow teachers and making a small different in our family budget (as I am now on maternity leave expecting our first child in October :-)

I am loving the weather as it slowly warms up.  We are still having chilly August mornings - with lots of fog.  But there are more moments each day of lovely sunshine marking the end of our winter.

I am thinking of how many more things I want to have ready in our home ready to welcome our new baby bundle of joy.  We are ready because we have bought most necessities and made a bedroom into the nursery.  Hubby even pulled out our linen press to build in a "office nook" to make a charging station for our laptops and cupboard to hide away the printer.  It is a luxury that technology lets us minimise some of the stuff in our home nowadays.  Friends and family have been very generous with thoughtful gifts for our little one - so we are in the final stages of sorting through what baby will need first and storing away what baby will grow into later :-)

I am wanting to get a little more rest when I can.  I know I love my sleep and will find the next few months a big challenge as we welcome our baby and settle in as a little family.  I have been pacing my energy as the weeks and months tick by.  But am also excited as October nears.

I need to stay on top of running our household now I am home more.  I love making our home nice for my hubby and 2 dogs to welcome  him when he returns home after school.  I want to keep this up so our transition from newlyweds (2 years married last July) and from being just a couple (6 years last Friday) to becoming a family unit when Baby is ready to arrive.

My husband is a year 3/4 teacher in a Catholic school.  We met at work and even team taught/ shared a classroom together last year.  He is year 3/4s this year/  Last year, we shared a year 4/5 class.  Some days the kids even confused us: Mr. & Mrs. B. and we worked on different days.  It was funny to be called Mr. B sometimes :-)  Hubby is now halfway through the third 10 week block of teaching this term.  Baby is due in October around the school 2 week holidays.  This could make for an interetsing end of Term 3 beginning and Term 4 with student-parents-teacher interviews too.

Hope my TpT friends in USA are enjoying the end of summer weather.  Hope my Aussie TpT freinds are celebrating the warmer sunshine (particularly as the world is swept up in the ICE BUCKET challenge to raise awareness and fundraise for AIS).  My hubby completed his video on Sunday just before the sun was setting :-)

Happy teaching and learning,

July Currently

I have been listening to the sound of my hubby painting with a roller in our baby's nursery.  Baby is due in October :-)  Our poodle thinks it is the best lullaby and nods off in front of the heater in the lounge to this gentle, repetitive sound.

I am loving and celebrating every sale in the slower months while much of the Northern Hemisphere is still on summer break.  I am home on maternity leave and my hubby has his first day back teaching year 3/4 students after our two week winter break in Australia.

I am thinking it is chilly in our Australian winter (while not snowy like other countries), but I am enjoying a different winter with "central heating" from growing our bundle of joy.  My husband is usually warm and I am usually frozen.  We even swap ends of the couch depending on the season:  I sit near the heater in winter and he sits near the air conditioner in summer with me snuggled under a blanket.  What a change this winter!

I am wanting to enjoy every day of my pregnancy because of the gift at the end.  I am feeling better this month, but still have a few days where morning sickness arrives morning, noon or night. After a more challenging day yesterday, today should be much better!

I am needing to challenge myself with the newest language released in beta in Duolingo: Dutch.  I try to rotate through each language:  It helps me switch gears (thought patterns).  I like to strengthen any words under practised and build my XP until I level up in that language.  When I earn enough Lingots to try a language test at my new level.  I love the accessibility of this volunteer supported software where anyone can learn a language and anyone can help translate the web one article at a time.

Our holiday plans have been jam packed: two weeks off teaching for hubby meant our usual trip to Adelaide to see specialists and have his regular procedure and back home in the second week in renovate our office into baby's nursery.  It went well that hubby's health has stabilised enough for 3 monthly trips are now 6 monthly (if there are no complications).  So, our usual trips in April, July, October and December are not as critical.  We have our fingers crossed that if baby arrives on time in October, hubby will be feeling well or he will be in Adelaide for specialists again, when baby and I are in our hospital back home.  We learnt the heard way that even with good hospital and extras cover, pregnancy and birth will not be covered on our private health insurance because there is a 12 month waiting list.  Pity that you only have 9 month notice of your bundle of joy.
